  • What is the Homeschool Support Program?
    Our Homeschool Support Program is a full-time program for students from Grade 4 to 12. It provides structured assistance for homeschooled students, allowing them to complete their studies in a supportive environment with the guidance of experienced tutors aligned with the CAPS curriculum through Impaq.
  • What are the homeschool support hours?
    We have two plans available: Plan 1 - Monday & Wednesday 8:00 - 14:00 and Friday 8:00 - 12:30 Plan 2 - Monday to Thursday 8:00 - 14:00 and Friday 8:00 - 12:30
  • Do students have opportunities for exercise and sports?
    Absolutely. We schedule 2 hours of sports and team-building activities weekly to help students stay active while developing essential teamwork, social, and friendship skills through collaborative play and interaction.
  • Are there any additional costs?
    Yes, students will need to provide their own laptops, study materials, and stationery. We also have a few outings throughout the year. Please request a fee schedule for any other additional costs.
  • What type of curriculum do you offer?
    The Matriarch Tutors offers the CAPS (South African) Curriculum through Impaq, as well as the GED (American) Curriculum.
  • How many students are typically in each class?
    Our class sizes are limited to a maximum of 10 students per class.
  • Can my child visit your tutor centre for the day on a trial basis?
    Yes, absolutely! To make sure we are the ideal match and atmosphere for your children, we encourage them to visit us for the day. If you would like to schedule a trial day at The Matriarch, kindly get in touch with the office.

    Once you book a tutor through our online form, we will match you with a tutor based on your child's needs and availability. The tutor will reach out to discuss goals, preferences, and scheduling.   • How do you ensure the quality of your tutors?
    We carefully select our tutors based on their qualifications and experience. All tutors go through a strict vetting process to ensure the safety of your children. While not all tutors are formally qualified, they all have relevant experience in their subjects.

    We request that cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to reschedule the lesson and accommodate other students.

    Our tutors provide regular feedback on your child's performance and progress. You will receive updates after each lesson and can discuss any concerns directly with your tutor.
  • Is there a trial session available?
    We do not offer trial sessions. However, our tutors are dedicated to providing a tailored approach to meet your child's specific learning needs.

    Each tutoring session typically lasts one hour, but we can adjust the duration based on your needs and preferences.
  • Are there any group tutoring options available?

    Yes, we offer a full-time Homeschool Support Program at our Tutor Centre in Bridle Park, Midrand that provides structured assistance for homeschooled students, ensuring they have access to a comprehensive education aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
